 WYCAP DESIGN is the largest custom marine upholstery and coverings fabricator in South Florida. Many of the world's finest boat builders, captains and brokers have selected WYCAP for our reputation of excellence. We pride ourselves on paying attention to the details and our attention to detail is unsurpassed. Our customers can always count on fair pricing, quality products and on time delivery.
History
In 1957, we opened our doors and soon became the exclusive outfitter for Chris Craft boats. Our original location was in Pompano Beach, close to the Chris Craft yard. For the next forty years we continued to grow, taking on additional OEM clients as well as building a portfolio of work on large yachts. By 1999, it was clear we needed more space and we moved to our present location in Fort Lauderdale. Currently, WYCAP employs over twenty full-time craftsmen and women, all of whom have been carefully selected for their unique talents. Our 8,000 square foot design and fabrication center is broken up into three departments: Upholstery, Flatwork, and Carpentry/ Metal. Each department is supervised by a master craftsman or woman who inspects every item before it leaves our facility.
Products and Services
Everything we produce is 100 percent custom. We pattern every job and never use stock patterns, even for our OEM customers. Anyone can sew a tarp together or stuff a cushion with foam. Surprisingly, very few people can do it right. Our covers don't collect water. Our enclosures don't wrinkle. And our cushions are comfortable and don't lose their shape. We're often asked for a list of products we produce. The short answer is, "if it can be sewn, we do it." Here is a list of our most commonly requested products:

Materials
We use only the highest quality textiles, hides, foam and hardware, all of which have been rigrously tested for durablity in the marine environment. Through our network of suppliers we have access to thousands of different types of textiles and leathers. Our craftsmen and women have experience working with them all. Some of our most common requests are:

Warranty
We are an authorized dealer for all the materials we use. Wherever a manufacturer's warranty is available, our customers enjoy this benefit. We warrant our own craftsmanship for a period of one year after delivery or for the length of the material manufacturer's warranty (whichever is longer).
Our Name
"WYCAP" was derived from "Whitecap". Whitecap was the original name of the company, way back in the fifties. Story goes, the partners in the company split up, one got control of the name and the other was forced to come up with a new one. He didn't want to confuse his customers too much so he created the word WYCAP (it sounded similar to Whitecap). His existing customers loved it, but it's managed to confuse every new one since.
